Fourteen weeks old
All of our puppies have now gone to their wonderful new homes, here's our new hopeful Chad who we hope to bring into the show ring later in the year.
Monday July 12
Ten weeks old
Posey playing with her puppies, two have gone to their new homes, and we miss them terribly, but we are happy with the excellent homes they have gone to,
where they are loved and well taken care of.
Auntie Amy also loves to play with the puppies .....

Monday Jun 28
Eight weeks old
Today we took a trip to the vet's office, where they all received their first shots and were thoroughly checked over by the vet.
Dr. Jennifer Wagner was pleased to tell us that they were all cute puppies and everything was normal, and they were all given a clean bill of health.
As you can tell from the photos below, the puppies weren't bothered one bit from their first vaccinations.

Almost 7 weeks old

Puppies Six Weeks Old
My how time flies, hard to believe these little bundles of joy are 6 weeks old. Here they are enjoying their playtime outside on the lawn.

We all had a grand time playing, Evan came back from winning his
first AKC Grand Champion points at the Flagstaff AKC All Breed Show and Posey let him say hello to the puppies.
(photo left) now they were all exhausted, Posey decided to settle down in the middle of them, just to keep a close eye on them all.
Saturday June 4th
Something New !
Feeling grass for the first time and enjoying the sunshine.
Today was a special day because we were allowed to come outside for the first time,
we don't know what this green stuff is, but it feels and smells different, and boy, oh boy,
we could really move fast on it.
Monday May 31st
4 Weeks Old TODAY
Look how much we've grown, we're even feeding ourselves sometimes now, yum. We also got our first bath today, it felt really good, now we're snuggled down with full bellies and nice clean coats. Even mom got herself a bath too, she isn't looking like she does in the show ring, all her coat is fluffed up but she is doing really good and it made her feel so much better.
Sunday May 30th
Almost 4 weeks old
Almost 4 weeks old now, and getting quite boisterous. Here they are at play, they're tiny teeth are coming in and quite sharp !
Friday May 21st
19 Days Old
Another milestone was reached two days ago, when on Wednesday (Day 17) all the puppies finally opened their eyes and they saw their new world for the first time. It completely changed the look of their faces, they all look so cute. They seem to recognize our faces and quickly come over to the side of the box when we come to take a look. 
They are much more mobile now, and can move around their box very easily, and are starting to play with each other. They are almost standing on all fours, but very unsteady at the moment.
All of them have more than tripled their birth weights. Posey continues to do a great job feeding and cleaning them.
Posey's appetite has increased dramatically and she is receiving 5 meals a day (2 milky feeds and 3 meat feeds) so that she can keep up with the increasing appetities of the puppies.
12 Days Old

The puppies continue to thrive. Posey is doing a great job.
They are all well past double their birth weights now.
We're waiting for their eyes to open any day.
1 WEEK OLD
Here are the puppies now 1 week old, doing what they like to do best - fill their tummies !! Mom Posey looks very proud

6 days old

Friday May 7th
The puppies continue to grow, they have added an ounce a day since birth.
The largest boy (2nd from top) and largest girl (at top) today weigh 13 oz,
all the others weigh 12 oz.
Posey continues to be a great mom, feeding and cleaning them.

Thursday May 6th
Puppies are 3 days old - and all are doing very well.
Posey is an amazing mother. She has really bonded with the puppies, it's hard just to get her to leave the box at all.
I thought I would just post some photos I took of them this morning.
Monday May 3rd
"The puppies are here !!!
What an exciting day......
Posey delivered 5 healthy puppies, 2 boys and 3 girls.
Just one day before Posey's birthday she gave herself the best birthday
present ever.
All the puppies weighed between 8oz and 10oz. All look wonderful and
are doing fine. Posey is being a great new mom.
Here they are getting their first meal from mom within minutes of their birth !!

EIGHT WEEKS - "May Day"
The sun is shining and it's finally starting to feel warmer after
some pretty cool temperatures earlier this week - unseasonally
cool for Arizona !
Posey has had more energy these last few days than earlier on in her
pregnancy. Although her tummy is pretty full with the puppies she still
enjoys playing in the sun with her favorite toy.
And now well I'm just plain tuckered out .....

Approximately SEVEN DAYS to go !!!!
Posey is getting more and more used to her whelping box.
Here she is practicing her mothering skills with a favorite toy.
I started to monitor her temperature today so we have an idea of
what her range is, we are looking for a significant drop from norm
which will signal her time is imminent.

SEVEN WEEKS and counting ...
Over seven weeks now into her pregnancy. Posey is getting pretty low to the ground
with her stomach full of growing puppies.
We weighed her again today - she is 31.11lbs, so she has gained almost 1/2lb just
since Thursday.
She eats only small meals but more frequently now.

Thursday April 22, 2010
OK I know this is probably going over the top, but we drove to the vet's office today in Phoenix
to have Posey X-Rayed.
We could count 5 puppy skeletons on the X-Ray confirming the count from the earlier ultra-sound.
All is looking good.
She weighed 31.5 lbs, so she has gained an extra 1-1/2 pounds in less than a week.
Just a little under 2 weeks to go now ...

SIX WEEKS INTO HER PREGNANCY
Here she is at 6 weeks, her tummy is starting to expand now.
We weighed her today, she was 30 lbs - this is 4 pounds heavier than
she is in show condition !! Her tummy was measuring 24" (as best as
I could measure) 
She has been very picky with her food so hopefully the weight gain is from her puppies certainly not excessive food.
We set up her whelping box today in her special room, she seems to like it.

Wonderful News !!!
Today Posey was taken for an ultra-sound to confirm if she is pregnant.
No mistaking this time, there they are - we could clearly see 5 puppies, there may be one or two more.
This was very exciting.
